| The extremity bones of Dog #1 and #2 have phenotypic features similar to previously reported Jomon dog bones found at burial sites. The graph on the right is a deviation line graph showing measurements of the radius and tibia in 11 categories compared with the modern shiba. You can see that the extremity bones of Dog #1 are of similar proportion to the buried dog from the Late Jomon excavated at the Tagara shell mound in Miyagi Prefecture. |
