Right Lateral View of Dog Cranium #1

Unlike excavated specimens dating from the Yayoi period and later, the slope from the forehead to the muzzle is not pronounced, forming a relatively straight line when viewed from the side. The low cranium, unpronounced protrusion in the front part of the frontal bone, high zygomatic bones, and the fact that the line drawn between the top and bottom of the orbit slants toward the back, are also features common to previously reported Jomon dog craniums.
