Mariko Hrigai won the DAAD Prize

Associate Prof. Dr. Mariko Harigai was awarded the 17th DAAD Prize of the Japanese Society of German Literature for her paper “Voices of the City, Places of Prey" : The Theatre of Non-Places in René Pollesch's The City as Prey”in German Literature No. 156.
The award ceremony at the annual meeting of the Japanese Society of German Literature scheduled in May 2020 was cancelled due to the spread of the Covid-19 infection.
It was a pity that we were not able to see Mariko at the ceremony, but we are very delighted and encouraged by her research achievement commended with the renowned prize of the Society. Mariko has steadily established the research field on the aspects of voices in theatre and arts, which had been untouched for many years in Japan. The scholarly acclaim for her research has given all members of the seminar a sense of hope amid the hardship caused by the pandemic.
Dear Mariko, congratulations!
