Illustrations from Cesare Ripa, Iconologia (Perugia, 1764-67)
This section of the Website contains all illustrations from the 5-volume edition of Cesare Ripa's Iconologia published in Perugia in 1764-67, greatly expanded by Cesare Orlandi. More comments on this edition is provided in the catalogue section of this website. Iconologia used for digitization is in the possession of Keio University Library. The web pages for Ripa's Iconologia is designed and created by Takami Matsuda and Emiko Yamagishi, with assistance by Kanako Ide, Atsuko Ishikawa, and Akiko Kobayashi. Images used in this site, uploaded here in considerably reduced size for Internet, have been scanned from analogue films (6x7) using Kodak PhotoCD system. Analogue photography is by photographer, Katsuhiro Nishimatsu. Assistance for digital conversion has been provided by Akemi Kobori.
